INTRODUCING TEST
A messaging app that operates through mesh networking. A messaging app that operates through mesh networking. A mesh network is a local network topology in which the infrastructure nodes connect directly, dynamically and non-hierarchically to as many other nodes as possible and cooperate with one another to efficiently route data from/to clients. TEST does not require cellular data or phone reception and therefore works effortlessly in a large scale festival context.
SET UP
TEST allows the user the create an account and select the festival they’re attending. Allowing TEST to provide the correct festival map and program that corresponds to the festival the user choses.
ADD FRIENDS
Adding friends is easy with TEST. Just search their username or browse through nearby friends. Once friends are added, all the other features TEST includes are able to function.
CHATS
Message friends with ease with the chat function. This allows users to findeachother, message in times of need or to simply have a chat.

PROGRAMS
TEST features a clear and consise festival program without the confusion. It includes all stages programs present at the festival as well as a personalised program created for the user. The user is able to add their favourite atists to a seperate tab where they can also set reminders before sets start so they will never miss a performance again.

Getting around festivals proves to be very difficult if you don’t know where you’re going. TEST has made getting lost impossible with it’s map feature. The map includes all the areas of the festival, camping sections, utilities, stages etc. It also features your friends locations so you can pin point exaclty where someone is to avoid friends getting split up.

LIGHTBOX WAY FINDING SYSTEM
The light box way finding system I have designed consists of large light box fixtures that use fluorescent artifical lighting to illuminate at night time while also proving effective during the day time. The structures use thick perspex to create their out shell with the text cut out to expose the light. The typefaces are bold andlegible at distances so that the user can read them clearly from a far. This system solves three main problems:

The system effectively provides festival attendees with clear directions to areas of the festival such at stages, water, food ect. The typefaces used a clear san serif fonts for easy readability.

MEET UP
The structures are very large in size and therefore can be spotted from far away. Attendees can use the light boxes at meeting points to find friends at. The light boxes are plotted on the festival map on TEST and therefore can be found this way as well.

The system also provides bright light during the night scene which can be helpful when needed to see where you’re walking.
